Marian and Peter Green welcome you to this attractive 17th Century  oak-beamed Public House and Restaurant in the beautiful village of Shalbourne.

In an idyllic location opposite the Village Green, The Plough offers a peaceful venue where on summer days you can idle the time away in a lovely setting at the front of the pub or in our pleasant beer garden. In winter, warm yourself next to a roaring open log fire in the bar.  We welcome families with children and dog owners.

The Plough offers a selection of well-kept Real Ales and  an excellent range of wines to suit all tastes.

We offer a varied menu with some British favourites prepared by our experienced Chef/Landlord.  Fresh fish and a selection of vegetarian dishes are available and we serve a traditional Sunday roast sirloin of beef.

You can sit in the informal bar area, or in our separate restaurant which accommodates up to fifty where our larger groups can have exclusive use for private parties.

For those exploring the area, the  Shalbourne Soaring Society offers gliding trips/lessons.  Wilton Windmill and Crofton Beam Engine are also well worth a visit.  The Savernake Forest is but a short drive away and the ancient Avebury Stone Circle is not to be missed.

There are excellent B& B venues available at  Westcourt Farm and The Coppice, or self contained accommodation at The Bothy or Manor Farm Cottage.
